Nobody can eat 50 eggs! Except [info]bias_cut.

1. The Lawyer got me into Top Chef, so I've been watching all of the past seasons and drooling over the food. Question: do they put a leslie bean in the show each season on purpose (I haven't seen season 3, so maybe it's just 1, 2, and 4)? Also, I'm currently watching Season 1 and am a little bit in love with Lee Ann Wong. A cute, smart, fat Asian who can cook? How can I get on her top friend roster STAT? I would totally fix her eyebrows and help her with her makeup if she'd make me some dinner.

2. I also realized after watching hours upon hours of the show that two of Tom Colicchio's restaurants are less than 2 blocks from my work! I've walked past them (Craftbar and 'wichcraft) a billion times and never made the connection. [info]nerd_dog and/or [info]kellidunham (my lunching buddies!), wanna get lunch with me at 'wichcraft sometime?

3. Delicious Koren food at Kang Suh tonight with [info]i_dreamed_i_was, her sweetie D, and their friend E tonight. My belly is rumbling in anticipation! I even dressed up a little bit since [info]i_dreamed_i_was requested cleavage.

4. Speaking of delicious food (again), I had some fan-fucking-tastic barbecue last night with Zoe, Bevin, Deb, and Anne at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que! I have a serious food crush on deviled eggs, and theirs were nearly orgasmic. Bevin and I shared the Sweetheart Plate, a full rack of ribs + 4 sides (we got mac & cheese, greens, potato salad, and baked beans). And, I had some of the most delicious peach & blueberry cobbler EVER. Leftovers for lunch today. YUM!

5. Dinosaur BBQ is also catering the July 4 fireworks thing that The Lawyer and I are going to tomorrow night on Roosevelt Island, and I want to eat a plate of like 30 deviled eggs. Wait, make that 60, because there is no doubt in my deviled egg-obsessed brain that I could totally out-eat Cool Hand Luke.

The fattest thing I've ever said:
For me, the moment a craving is fulfilled parallels the moment of orgasm.

Re: The fattest thing I've ever said:
i'd say it's a pretty good moment, comparable with a small vibrator-on-low-doing-it-alone orgasm, not a big hot getting fisted by my partner orgasm. :D

Lee Ann is the shit! Do you know how it all ends because I know what's going on with her now if you need stalker information.

Season two is a little meh but I (and I really am the only one) LOVE Marcel so it remains my favorite.

I accidentally read a spoiler of which episode she gets kicked off in, but I'll hold off on asking about her until I'm done with the season. She looks thinner on that Bravo blog, though. I don't know if it's photoshopping, but I'd be sad if she got skinny!

Also, I HATE Marcel almost as much as I hate that douche sommelier Stephen! How can you love Marcel? HOW???

she totally got skinny (well skinnier). i was disappointed even thoguh i know i shouldn't be.

I am totally disappointed, 'cause she's one of the only fat Asians I've ever seen on tv.

*sigh*

Has this rumor been confirmed?

My Marcel love knows no bounds and makes no sense. Srsly I wish I could make sense of it. The Top Chef charity cook-off with Marcel and Stephen on opposing teams is made of WIN, it's effing epic. I need it on tape right now so I can LMAO.

I now blame my Marcel love on the fact that he looks very similar to my celeb crush:

I used to eat at the original Dinosaur Bar-B-Que up in Syracuse when I lived there -- I hadn't realized they'd made their way south to the city! Do they have awesome R&B music at that location, like the original?

Season one was the best Top Chef! Lee Ann is one of my all time favorites! I hated Stephen up until the reunion episode where, for me, things changed. And now I miss him. ESPECIALLY in comparison to some of the asshats who have come after him.

Total bummer!! Basically he completely apologized for how he'd acted. He especially apologized to the one girl who he was really belittling to...I don't remember her name but I think she had no professional experience and was really young. He said that he saw the way he acted and couldn't believe that was him and how sorry he was for treating her that way.

He was much more laid back and friendly than he'd ever been on the show and I think was even wearing jeans and a tshirt! And to me it felt completely sincere. So, after that, I decided I loved him because he was actually able to see his faults and own up to them.

Her name is Candace. She is now the host of the early morning something or other on HSN! Yes, Home Shopping Network... The woman ain't so smart, in that most descriptions involving "more difficult" words tripped her up. Seriously, she kept taking stabs at "eclectic", and the producer even stepped in to help her out. It was paaaainful.

If you're into TC check out http://amuse-biatch.blogspot.com/

Also, Lee Ann totally got super skinny and is now the food producer for TC. She and I were on a plane together to Chicago last fall. She was tan, thin, had a huge rock on her finger and was stuck in a middle seat in coach - Bravo is cheap. When I was going through security I actually heard her say on her phone and I shit you not - "be sure to showcase the glad family ware products." Eek!

This makes me weep a little bit.

Hopefully she's happy and I'm glad she's successful, but it makes me feel lonelier to have 1 less fat Asian in the world.

*sad sigh*

So funny!

I wonder if it's because the cheffie world in general is full of leslie beans, ([info]princessrugger, are you there and do you know?) or if it's because there's a LB-happy casting director who wants to make sure there's representation of The Gay?
[info]elusis wrote:

Good question. I have been falling over myself with the queer representation on that show from the beginning. Season one was MADE of crazy girl hotness though. I admit to an enormous Tiffani crush, particularly when they went to the fetish club and she was the only person who really dressed the part or, IMHO, wrapped her head around the sexy theme.

I have a trans friend who applied to be on the show and has actually been asked to do a second vid for the producers. Fingers crossed - he would be going on the show totally out, chest scars and all AFAIK.

Oh, I *loathe* Tiffani! She is really a jerk in my opinion!

And good luck to your friend! It'd be awesome to see a trans chef on the show!

LOVE Top Chef! Warning, though: the incredible amounts of bullying and homophobia(?) exhibited by some contestants in season 2 will make you want to either vomit or kill somebody. Or both.
